Regulation Time (or Full Time)
Regulation Time is the official normal duration of a match, according to the rules of the association organizing the event. This is the time used by default to settle most betting markets, unless otherwise specified.
According to our Betting Rules (section 1.1), all bets are considered valid only based on the result at the end of Regulation Time or Full Time, as defined by the corresponding official association.
Examples by sport
- Football (Soccer): 90 minutes, including any stoppage time or added time awarded by the referee.
- Beach soccer: 36 minutes.
- Basketball, American football, ice hockey, and baseball: these are exceptions to the general rule, as in these sports overtime is usually included by default in the main markets, unless otherwise specified.
Important: if the official association establishes a different duration from the standard one before the event begins (for example, an Under-17 match played in two 40-minute halves), that duration is considered the official match time for that event.
Stoppage Time (Added Time / Injury Time)
Stoppage Time consists of the additional minutes added by the referee at the end of each half to compensate for interruptions (injuries, substitutions, time-wasting, VAR reviews, etc.).
Key point: stoppage time or added time is not the same as extra time (overtime). It is an integral part of regulation time.
According to our Betting Rules (section 1.1), full time consists of the 90 minutes, including stoppage time or added time.
This means that, for betting settlement purposes, any goal, card, corner, or other event that occurs during stoppage time or added time counts as part of regulation time, not as extra time.
Extra Time (Overtime): Only if There Is a Draw and a Winner Must Be Determined
Extra Time is an additional period played after the normal match has ended (the 90 minutes plus stoppage time) and only takes place when:
- The match ends in a draw, and
- The competition requires a winner to be determined (for example, in a final or knockout match).
Golden rule: events that occur during extra time do not count for your bet, unless the betting market explicitly specifies that it includes extra time or includes overtime.
